Wondering what
The EMPWR is all about?

Let me introduce myself and share with you how it all started!

Natalie Skogsberg, Founder & CEO The EMPWR

My name is Natalie…I'm not a yoga teacher... My professional background consist of many years as an executive assistant and most recently a graphic designer... So why am I opening a yoga and creative community club, you might ask!?

I’m born in Sweden but spent the last decade in the US. Back in Christmas of 2022, I took a 2 week break from work (and those of you who have worked in the US knows that a 2 week vacation can be hard to come by!) I was supposed to travel back to visit family over the holidays, but ended up staying home, and decided to use my time to recharge with yoga and all kinds of creative crafts instead.

One day, in the middle of a yoga class I suddenly felt a rush of creative inspiration and a desire to go throw some paint on a canvas. I thought; wouldn't it be great if there was a space where we could all recharge, meditate, and then express ourselves creatively? If such a place didn't exist, I was determined to create it. And that’s how the idea started—with a dream to build a community where we could all explore our creative potential. Since then the idea has grown into much more than just a yoga and art studio…

For a long time, I wrestled with a lot of anxiety and depression, the feeling of being out of place, chasing some sort of high on life and always feeling like the grass was greener on the other side. When I first discovered yoga in 2016, I was like many others, looking for a new type of workout and to perhaps improve my flexibility. But what I learned in my practice was a new way of seeing life and appreciating the moment (but still, I can barely reach my toes or do a proper chaturanga!!) Understanding that it’s ok to have big dreams and goals, but that enjoying the moment and the process is equally as important. While I’ve been working a lot on my own personal growth over the last few years, I’ve also realized the importance of having the right mindset; that anything in life is possible if you set your mind to it. The creation of this studio, from start to where we are now (just a month away from opening!!) has certainly showed me just that.

I’m envisioning The EMPWR to be more than just a yoga studio. It’s my ambition to create an open, welcoming space where everyone can come as they are. Whether you’ve never tried yoga, think meditation isn’t for you, or doubt your creative spark, as long as you come with an open mind and an open heart, the EMPWR is for you. We’re here to motivate each other, grow, laugh, and maybe even wobble through a few poses together.

It was by some luck (and perhaps a little push from the universe) that I ended up here in Sitges. During my first 3 months in Barcelona, I decided to take the train to Sitges one day and check it out. I walked from the train station and down through the city center and I remember looking up to the sky thinking “this is it, this is where I want to be”. The vibe of this wonderful town is just unbeatable! Since then I’ve not only found the space that’s becoming our studio, but I’ve also met with some of the most amazing and inspiring people I’ve ever met, and it makes me all that more excited about opening this space and getting to share it with you all.

My hope for The EMPWR is to be that place where your wildest dreams aren’t just welcomed; they’re encouraged. A space where you can find peace, inspiration, and a community that motivates you to do it all!

So, if you’ve ever felt like you’re searching for a place to belong, to recharge, and to express yourself: Welcome to The EMPWR. I can’t wait to build this community together!

With love,
